We’re having some intense bugs on certain hardware, so you may want to hold off until we figure out what it is exactly.

We will get a fix up ASAP!

Awesome to see this (almost) finished! Nice trailer, too; I’ll definitely be picking it up once it’s out proper. :D

this is vomit. don’t try to be sarcastic, meta, witty or self-aware. you’re terrible at it. the trailer is essentially the game being played while the writing is making fun of it. it might as well have ended with the tagline ‘waste your time’.

I think you think your own game is pointless. your motivation are mostly self-gratification and/or a desperate attempt at a quick cash-in.

    try harder.

    Thanks for the comments. :)

We’ve submitted a fix for the problems to the AppStore, hopefully it will be up soon.

7: Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for the trailer as its Mark’s creation. But I would have liked to because its a good trailer. I like Mark’s style and it was a pleasure to work with him on discovering and realizing our vision for the game.

I certainly don’t think the game is pointless, as I find myself playing it a lot. It works well as the type of game that you use to “zone out”. Its not a plot-driven game, or a game with multiple levels or a game with any grandiose meaning behind it (things I’m often drawn to in games) – but in fact, I enjoy its simplicity.

One thing that some people appear to assume is that indie game developers “know” what is going to sell well and what isn’t. The reality, at least in my case, is that I don’t. I make what I’m interested in making. I present what I make honestly and in (what I hope is) an appealing fashion, because I find it to be enjoyable. I hope that people do enjoy and support what I make so that I can keep making stuff! These motivations are actually quite simple, positive and open.

Now if you don’t find our work appealing, that’s certainly your entitled opinion. But to insinuate that we don’t care about our work or that we’re only “trying to make a buck” is very inaccurate and also insulting.

I can’t believe you responded to that Alec.

Was it even written about your game? The trailer isn’t ‘Meta’, the text doesn’t mock it.

I also like that a _troll_ is trying to call you out for dishing junk into the world for self-gratifying reasons.

Also, who makes games for non self-gratifying reasons? Who makes art for non self-satisfying reasons? That’s the good reason to make art.

11: Good point. You’re right that we all get pleasure out of making stuff, and that’s the beauty of it. Trolls seem to enjoy creating their posts, so I imagine they agree. :)

Looks pretty fun. Saw it on the app store when you first posted this, but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try to download it until after you took it down, good thing I guess though, I’m running 3rd gen :P Hope you get the bugs fixed soon, can’t wait to play it. Oh, and good job handling #12, I was shocked the post but impressed by your response.

What’s the “Das” in the title supposed mean? Please tell me it’s an abbreviation and not a “cool” attempt to use German…

The title was inspired by Mark’s love of “Das Boot”, which you may have heard of. :)

What’s the three 000 in Col000r supposed to mean? Please tell me it’s not a “cool” attempt to alienate the word color with leet… #14

Ah, ok. As a reference it sort of makes sense… :) Guess I’m a little sensitive, sorry… Usually if you use english words in a german sentence there’s 2 ways to determine which article to use:
    1) If the english word sounds very much like a german word, use that word’s article (even if the word means something else)
    2) If it doesn’t sound like anything german, use the article of the translated word.
I don’t think there’s an official rule for this, but that’s is how it’s usually done. In the case of “The Cube” this would lead to “Der Cube”, so I felt obliged to crucify the offender.

It’s actually one of the most fun iphone games I’ve played. I got an ipod touch for christmas and I’ve checked out alot of games but the endless and simple gameplay mechanics give it alot of replay value so I keep coming back for more.
