Interview with The Reticule

I did an interview with Phill Cameron of “The Reticule”.

Interview with The Reticule

Its kind of funny, when you’re in something like making indie games long enough you start to get used to doing interviews. They become an interesting way to examine yourself and what you’re doing. I think with this one, I might finally be on to something – figuring out the kind of games that I’m really interested in making.

…well it meant something to me anyways. :)

You can read the whole thing here.

In my opinion Indies are the rockstars of the computer age you have tons of fun and you have the advantage of not being sucked into some humongous beast of a studio where you are just letters in a huge wall of credits.
The best of luck to you and your team.

I am officially even more intrigued about Marian; to hear that it has to do with personal experiences. Anything personal, that has meaning to the person/people creating it, shows through to the audience. Maybe some people don’t appreciate depth/honesty because it’s uncomfortable, but I search for it.

Its an interesting thing. I don’t find working on something particularly interesting unless I can find some kind of intense personal connection to it – but that’s the same kind of thing that freaks some people out. :)

It can also be pretty taxing.

Alec, I think I know you pretty well but there are things in your games that reveal and help me to better understand certain aspects of you…. so I hope you never deviate from using personal drives as a springboard for game concepts. It makes the projects so meaningful and beautiful, and I know I am not the only one who recognizes and appreciates the passion and honesty with which you approach your games. Keep doing what you do, baby! :) <3
