We’ve been featuring Katie‘s work a fair bit in the last while, but our other concept artist – Ashley Dumonchelle, has been doing a ton of great work at a very quick pace for the last few months. When we need to build a new reusable object into the game, the first step is having Ashley sketch out a number of interesting options. From there, we pick the ones we like and move on into modelling.

Ashley has a great eye for interesting shapes, in my humble opinion. The final art style of Marian may end up being an interesting fusion of Ashley’s shapes and Katie’s colours.
Next week we’ll take a little peak at how some of these models get made and what they look like in the game…

I said it once, i’ll say it again , you should make a artbook after the game is done. Or a bundle pack …..artwork looks amazing : )))

I agree with Day – a book of artwork would be awesome. I’d buy it, along with the game!

Hmm, yes, excellent shape design. I like the intricate detail on the bottom picture.
This game’s going to be so damned pretty.. I might have to have it run on a computer 24/7 and hang it on a wall.

I agree – an artbook would be fantastic!
And I’d love to see more work from Ashley, these designs are gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see more.
This game is going to be really, really beautiful.

The third door/window item in the second image reminds me of the swirly door in Aquaria.
