Marian Mondays: To Baldly Go…

Another week, another Marian monday!

Although we have a work in progress model of Marian up and running in the game already, we’ve decided to pursue refining her design early on.

Adam is adapting the model originally created by our animator Liem based on feedback from our concept artists Ashley and Katie. To help convey ideas quickly, Katie and Ashley often paint rough concepts overtop of the character model:

To keep things simple at this phase we’re ignoring Marian’s hair for now, hence her unintended tribute to Patrick Stewart.

What will the new model look like when she’s done? I’m excited to get there. :)

Looking SO good! Her face already says a lot about her character – I can’t wait to learn more (:

Haha! That would be so unnecessarily brilliant, if we had a Marian as Patrick Stewart in-joke of some type.
