We’re thinking of holding a game jam before the end of August.
It probably won’t be as organized or as big as our first one, but it’ll be nice to get together before the end of the summer and jam out.
We’re looking at either the weekend of the 21st or the weekend of the 28th.
The advantage of the 28th is that Jeff Lindsay, webmaster of TIGSource, will be in town – and he’d probably love to join us.
One of the biggest things we’re missing is a location! If nothing else, we may end up hosting it in our apartment – but it’d be better to have it somewhere with more space.
If you’re interested in attending, and/or have any ideas for a location, please let us know. Thanks!

Hey Alec,
Perhaps Brenna and I could offer up our house? There is a 6-person kitchen table (it’s big), a desk upstairs, the sound booth in the basement and some space in the living room.
People will have to bring power bars/extension cords, etc., or maybe a small portable desk/chair, but it’s an idea.
Just putting it out there!

That sounds like a really awesome idea if you guys are up for it.

Yeah, man! There isn’t much for sleeping quarters (1 spare bedroom and a carpet in the sound booth), but I think that it could totally work as a base of operations, if it wasn’t an enormous jam
Have you picked a weekend yet?

I’m leaning towards the weekend of the 28th, but I haven’t heard from everyone yet.

That sounds awesome – count us in
The address is 415 Morley, if you need to send out directions or anything!

What do you think your max capacity might be?

Ummm… good question, 6-7 at the table, 2 on the couch, 1 on the red chair, 1 on the white chair, two laptops at the wee table in the kitchen, two people in the study upstairs, if someone is in the booth downstairs too…?
So maybe… 12-14 comfortably (even if they’re scattered). Maybe 10 in a shared space (kitchen/dining room/living room?)
If we could conjure an extra desk/table or something too, that would increase capacity.
We’ll make it work, somehow
(Then have a sweet bonfire outside? (I have a firepit and it makes for great times) Or all head out together somewhere?)

Is this a part of some sort of new game jam epidemic? I was planning on holding one in Vancouver sometime soon.

I would probably be happier with the 28th as well. Couple things: I don’t have a laptop. Would we get any sleep? I have some mental issues, and I’d probably get really irritable without my sleep and food…. Don’t change plans for me or anything, but if you guys have some ideas about these issues, I would be able to attend.
Thanks,
MTracer.

MTracer: What kinda mental issues? :\

High functioning autism, adhd, stuff like that. BTW: I’m 13 years old. I am a passionate geek, and I don’t PLAY to many games, so I wouldn’t just be a teen looking for entertainment.

Yeah, well basically the way it works is… people show up and leave whenever they want.
e.g. So if you wanted to stop by for only a few hours, that’s cool.
There’s no requirement for staying up all night or anything.

Actually, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it. D’: Sorry.
