Hey folks. I decided to put together another video showing off some of the progress on the Monocle Engine.
Ashley and I also decided we’d let you take a peak at some of the Marian stuff we’ve been working on using the engine as well.
There’s some new music and other goodies in there too.

Hey all! It’s been a while, but we’ve been busy.
Matt Thorson (Jumper, Ogmo Editor) and I have been working on a new 2D game engine. We’re planning on using it for our projects, if all goes well.
We started the project on March 14. Two weeks later, the engine already runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and has three WIP editors for levels and animations.
One of the cool things about the engine is that it’s open source. (under the MIT license)
I’ve put together a video to share some of the early tests we’ve been making with the engine:

P.S. For some reason I uploaded a video that plays the same content twice. Oops!
Some people have been asking how much this engine has to do with Marian. Hopefully I’ll be able to talk more about that soon.
Last night, we narrowly avoided a catastrophe of epic proportions. Watch, and discover why developing the Winnitron is a dangerous endeavour…
Howdy, I’ve decided to “reboot” my Unity tutorial series, with a look at the newest version of Unity: 3.0, beta 7.
Note: You can get access to the Unity 3.0 beta at the Unity website, if you preorder.
From here on, I’m going to diverge the tutorials into two separate streams:
N00b Series One will be for complete n00bs. It will attempt to explain scripting in a way that people who have never done any programming will hopefully understand. The end goal of the n00b series will be to build a really basic platformer.
Intermediate Series The other will go into more advanced topics, for those who already get the basics of scripting. These topics will include physics gameplay, 2D layering, connecting to online services, etc.
Requests Let me know if there are topics you’d like me to cover.
Thanks for watching, and enjoy!
